    Dynasty Derby

Well, you clicked. We told you not to. Since you’re here, grab a bat. Welcome to Dynasty Derby, a quick three-inning batting game hidden on Dodgers Dynasty.

Open the game in its own tab for a bigger view.

    How to play

You’re at the plate for three innings. Each inning lasts three outs. Score as many runs as you can before the game ends.

    1. Start the game. Click or tap the field, or press the Space bar.
    2. Aim. Your mouse pointer becomes a white aiming circle, which works like the barrel of your bat. Move it to where the pitch is headed.
    3. Swing. Click right on the ball as it crosses the plate. On a phone or tablet, tap the ball. On a computer, the Space bar also swings at wherever your aiming circle is.
    4. Watch for the gold ring. Just before the pitch arrives, a gold ring closes in on the spot where the ball will cross. The ball glows while it’s hittable.

    Balls and strikes

    • The dashed box over home plate is the strike zone.
    • Take a pitch outside the box and it’s a ball. Four balls is a walk.
    • A pitch in the box that you don’t swing at is a strike. So is a swing and a miss.
    • Three strikes and you’re out. A foul ball counts as a strike, but it can’t be strike three.
    • Chasing pitches outside the box is allowed, but you’ll make weaker contact.

    Hitting

    • Timing and aim both count. If your click is too far from the ball, it’s a miss, even if your timing is perfect.
    • Home runs are earned. You need near-perfect timing, a dead-center click and a pitch in the strike zone. Anything less won’t clear the fence.
    • Close but not perfect usually means a double or triple. Some of those drives get caught at the wall.
    • Where you miss matters. Swing under the ball and it goes in the air, often a fly out or pop-up. Swing over it and you’ll hit it on the ground.
    • Runners move up the same number of bases as the hit. A single moves everyone up one base, and a double moves everyone up two.

    The pitcher

    • Fastballs run 92 to 98 mph. Every once in a while he’ll throw a rare 100 mph-plus heater.
    • He also throws changeups (84–89 mph), curveballs (78–83 mph) and sliders (86–90 mph). The breaking balls look straight, then break late.
    • The speed and pitch type show up after each pitch.
    • In the second and third innings, he throws harder more often.

    Score and sound

    • Your best score is saved in the browser on your device, so try to beat it next time.
    • To mute the sound, click the speaker icon in the top-right corner or press M.

    Best played in a browser

Dynasty Derby plays best in a regular web browser, like Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, on a computer with a mouse. It works on phones and tablets too, but aiming is easier with a mouse. If you found this page through Facebook or Instagram, open it in your phone’s browser instead of the app’s built-in browser. Turn your sound on to hear the crack of the bat.

Dynasty Derby was built with the assistance of AI tools. It’s an unofficial fan game and isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by the Los Angeles Dodgers or Major League Baseball.
