Former Los Angeles Dodgers star Cody Bellinger has a new pair of trophies to add to his collection.
On Friday, Bellinger was named the winner of the American League’s Platinum Glove Award, which is awarded to the top defender in all of baseball, as voted by fans.
Bellinger already captured his second Gold Glove Award this offseason (his first was in 2019 with the Dodgers), and now he adds the Platinum Glove to his growing list of accomplishments.

The Platinum Glove Award is voted on by fans among the list of Gold Glove winners for each league.
But it wasn’t just fans who recognized Bellinger’s defensive greatness.
Cody Bellinger still among MLB’s best defenders
Bellinger’s Baseball Savant page is all crimson when it comes to fielding, with the website grading him in the 91st percentile in range, 89th in arm value and 94th in arm strength.

Bellinger also won the Fielding Bible Award as the game’s top left fielder. He previously won two Fielding Bible Awards in 2019 at right field and as a multi-position player. The Fielding Bible Award is arguably more prestigious, as it uses a more analytics-based approach to determining the best defenders at each position.
Chicago Cubs All-Star and National League MVP frontrunner Pete Crow-Armstrong won the Platinum Glove for the NL, and was the league’s Gold Glove recipient at center field, blocking current Dodgers center fielder Andy Pages from winning his first individual award.

Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy was also a finalist for the Gold Glove, but was also beaten out by a Cub, as Alex Bregman received the honor for the second time in his career, his first with Chicago.

Muncy is also a finalist for his first Silver Slugger Award and, again, will be competing with Bregman for the trophy.
Atlanta Braves utility man Mauricio Dubon, who has been linked to the Dodgers as a potential free agent signing, won his third Gold Glove in four years at the flexible position.
