Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is shaking things up for Game 2 of the National League Division Series.
Hours before first pitch, the team announced that it would be swapping one World Series hero for another against the Atlanta Braves.
Miguel Rojas will get the start at third base, sending Max Muncy, who homered in Saturday’s NLDS Game 1, to the bench as a super-sub if needed.
Roberts, who loves playing the chess match that is situational hitting, will give Rojas the first crack against Braves reliever Ray Kerr.

The Braves are going with a bullpen game for the second tilt against the defending champions, and Roberts is looking to play the advantage early.

Kerr, 32, is a left-handed pitcher and one of the key cogs of the Braves’ pen.
Rojas has been remarkable against lefties this season, batting .293 with an .805 OPS across 161 plate appearances.
Dodgers’ Muncy has struggled against left-handed pitchers
Muncy, meanwhile, was himself formidable against left-handed pitching throughout the 2026 regular season, but has historically struggled against the southpaws.
In 2026, Muncy batted .263 with 7 home runs and an .858 OPS.
Over his 11-year career in the Bigs, Muncy’s batting average against lefties is a paltry .222, and his OPS falls to .791. He still has an elite eye that helps keep his on-base percentage relatively high at .331, but he’s inarguably more formidable against righties.
While there’s a sizable power drop-off between Rojas and Muncy, Miggy-Ro also brings added defensive versatility that Roberts has always loved.
And with the Braves trotting out their bullpen for a Game 2 tilt, it doesn’t necessarily mean Muncy won’t see the field at all. He’ll undoubtedly be a top choice for pinch-hit scenarios, and he could always be reinserted at third base if pitching matchups are favorable.
Regardless, it speaks to the sheer level of depth that the two-time defending World Series champions have that the team can bench its all-time postseason home run leader in the Division Series.
Game 2 of the National League Division Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Atlanta Braves is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday at Dodger Stadium. Blake Snell will get the start; reigning World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto is expected to take the mound for Game 3 on Tuesday.
The Dodgers lead the series 1-0 after a 5-3 victory over the Braves in the team’s postseason opener Saturday.
